Rule Handbook

By playing on our server, you automatically acknowledge the rules listed below, and that they can change in the future. No exceptions will be made for anyone regardless of role, rank, or position in staff. Punishments on rules will depend on the severity, and the amount of infractions a user may already have. More information regarding tickets, rules, etc will be located at the bottom of the page. If you have any inquiries regarding rules, contact a staff member through the Support discord server.

1 - General Guidelines

1.1 - Use of modifications

Any use of hacked clients, programs, and/or modifications that allow you to have an advantage over players is not allowed. Resource packs that allow you to view blocks/ores (x-ray resource packs) that cannot be viewed by the default Minecraft resource pack is not allowed. Mods that allow you to view invisible players are not allowed. Map modifications that display caves, ores, invisible players, and more information than our live map shows is not allowed. Building modifications such as Litematica with printer is not allowed. (Allowed without printer, and Schematica is not allowed).

This rule does not apply to modifications such as Optifine or other performance mods, and aesthetic modifications (resource packs / shaders).

1.2 - Alternate accounts

Users are only permitted to one (1) Minecraft account per person. If you have multiple people playing on the same network, please open a ticket in our Support discord server for an exception to 1.2.

1.3 - Circumventing punishment

Users are not allowed to avoid punishments such as mutes or bans. Any circumvention with alt accounts will result in a ban on all accounts.

1.4 - Knowingly assisting in rule breaking / taking advantage of bugs

Players who are involved in the breaking of rules may be punished depending on the rule broken, and the severity of the issue. All users are expected to contact support if they have discovered a glitch or bug. Players who take advantage of any bugs will be punished depending on severity.

1.5 - Disruption of services

Any form of disrupting server activity (eg. intentionally lagging the server, intervening in staff operations such as responding to tickets or player concerns, performing denial of service attacks [DOS] or distributed denial of service attacks [DDOS], making unnecessary tickets in our support discord, or spamming tickets) is not allowed and players will be punished depending on severity. Any severe form of server disruption (DDOS attacks) will be reported to our the proper authorities.

1.6 - Personal information

Users’ personal information and data is taken seriously on the server. Sharing any personal information of other players in any form is not allowed (Doxxing). This includes the sharing of personal information disclosed by players on themselves, and/or other players. Examples of personal information are (but not limited to) full names of other players, photos / videos of players' real-life identities, phone numbers and other direct contact information, IP addresses, locations of players' home/school/work, family members. Using players' personal information in an attempt to extort, blackmail, harm, defame another user, or any other malicious intent is not allowed.

DiplomaticaMC reserves the right to obtain evidence of such actions occurring on communication platforms related to DiplomaticaMC (this includes, but not limited to: Nation / town communication discords, messages that contain context relating to DiplomaticaMC (in other platforms and direct messages), and other unofficial servers related to DiplomaticaMC that is outside official mediums) to be used when taking action against another player for 1.6.

1.7 - Sale of Items

Users are not allowed to sell or rent in-game items or ranks to other users with real-world money. The only way to purchase items and/or ranks on the server is through the DiplomaticaMC Rank Store.

1.8 - Farms and Automatic Contraptions

Farms that produce any ore is not allowed. This includes farms that produce Gold (server currency). Automatic contraptions (redstone contraptions) that are performance heavy and causes server lag may be disabled or removed. Stasis chambers, and/or any contraption that allows players to automatically load chunks, or keeping chunks in a loaded state, is not allowed.

2 - User Behavior

Rules apply in-game, and in other communication servers managed by server administrators. We do not count chats outside of DiplomaticaMC as a form of evidence when reporting a player!

2.1 - Sharing of media / Advertising

Media that does not correlate with DiplomaticaMC is not allowed. This includes the sharing/posting of any links, text, Discord server invites, etc. Videos/ streams shared must be related to DiplomaticaMC (for example, YouTube videos about playing on the server, town showcases etc.) The sharing/posting of malicious links and/or media in any form is not allowed.

2.2 - Chat spam

Spamming, which is the act of repeatedly and swiftly sending messages in chat, is not allowed. This includes messages with all caps, spam of text, phrases, duplicates of text, copypastas, emojis, videos, images, links, GIFs, and pings. Mass pinging is not allowed.

2.3 - Toxic behavior

It is expected that all players remain respectful in chats. Punishments on 2.3 may vary depending on severity and/or previous history of players. Engaging in toxicity in official server mediums is not allowed. Examples of toxicity include, but are not limited to: harassment of other players and staff members, incitement of violence and/or harassment against players, messages that involve considerable amounts of profanity, and inciting conversations that may result in toxic behavior to occur.

2.4 - Unwanted behavior

Punishments on 2.4 may vary depending on severity and/or previous history of players. Unwanted behavior, which includes the actions of, but not limited to: bypassing chat filter, the use of derogatory terms (slurs), hate speech towards racial and social identities, comments or discussions that harm a player's real-life identity or reputation (defamation), encouraging self-harm or violence towards players, Nazism, explicit discussions about sex, and any inappropriate interactions towards other players, especially minors, is not allowed. Examples of interactions are, but not limited to: attempting to form inappropriate relationships with players, messages and conversations that contain or imply of an inappropriate and/or sexual advance towards a younger player, or messages and conversations that exploit, manipulate, coerce, and/or groom younger players.

DiplomaticaMC reserves the right to obtain evidence of such actions occurring on communication platforms related to DiplomaticaMC (this includes, but not limited to: Nation / town communication discords, messages that contain context relating to DiplomaticaMC (in other platforms and direct messages), and other unofficial servers related to DiplomaticaMC that is outside official mediums) to be used when taking action against another player for 2.4. This only applies to major cases (repeated 2.4 instances, or engaging in inappropriate advances / relationships with younger players)

2.5 - Impersonation

The form of changing your identity to match someone else’s, or impersonation, is not allowed. Such forms include changing your name to match another username, or town and nation names. Impersonation of staff in any form is not allowed. Players who cause harm to other players via impersonation can be subject to harsher punishments such as permanent bans.

3 - Towny

3.1 - Town claims

Towns are not allowed to block another town from expanding with their claims. Claim arms, which are 1-2 chunk-wide town claims which reach out in a certain direction are not allowed, if the town has a reasonable amount of open space next to them. Cases on claim blocking are determined by staff. Hollow claiming is not allowed. Hollow claiming is the act of claiming town blocks in a claim arm and connecting it with the town, which creates an empty wilderness space in-game, but will appear on the dynmap as part of the town and in turn make your town appear larger.

3.2 - Proximity grief

Griefing next to towns in the wilderness is not allowed. Staff may roll back any damage and/or warn and possibly ban users if the damage is severe. Towns that are located near ruins of old towns can request their surrounding areas to be rolled back

3.3 - Extreme grief

The creation of large lava structures (lava casts, cobble monsters, lava or water curtains, tnt craters, etc.) in the wilderness is not allowed. Mass spawning of entities is not allowed and may result in the despawning of said entities if it affects server performance. The griefing of ice roads and minecart railways (in the overworld and nether) are not allowed, if two or more towns are connected to it.

3.4 - Artificial land masses

The creation of artificial islands are not allowed. Extensions of existing islands are allowed, depending on the size of the island and is determined by server staff. The removal of large islands (examples are: Crete, Cyprus, Jamaica, Canary Islands, The Philippines, Australia, Mars) are not allowed.

3.5 - Spawn Trapping

Players are not allowed to trap players in their town’s home block and surrounding chunks with the intention to harm the player, or to prevent them from teleporting out of the town they are trapped in. The surrounding area represents a one-chunk (16 blocks) radius from the edge of your town’s homeblock chunk. If your town is small and it’s claims do not exceed past the one chunk radius, then any chunks that the town has claimed which is in the one-chunk radius will be protected from spawn trapping, and any unclaimed chunks in the surrounding area will not count towards spawn trap protection. Players are not allowed to keep other players in their towns, preventing them from teleporting out.

3.6 - Portal trapping

Portal trapping is the act of placing blocks next to a portal to prevent access of inventory, and the chat. Users must leave a one-block space in every portal.

3.7 - Mapart

Mapart is not allowed to contain any lewd images, or anything that breaks rule 2. Canvases for mapart can be placed anywhere on the map, though a good place for one would be Antarctica.

3.8 - Stealing / insiding / raiding

It is the responsibility of the town mayor and assistants to prevent their towns from having their items stolen. Stealing is allowed on the server. Players can grief inside towns in the form of insiding, and builds can be rollbacked if any griefing occurred during insiding, with the exception of chests and items being rollbacked.

4 - Naming

4.1 - Nation names

Nation names must be historically accurate, which means that there must be a record of that name existing during some point of time. Fictional nation names are not allowed. The nation name must also be roughly based on the location of the capital town, and nation names must be presented in English characters and translation. Nation names must not contain anything that breaks rule 2.

If your ideal nation name is taken, names can also be based on the state/province, or a large geographical area with defined borders.

Cases regarding 4.1 are determined by server staff. Players who violate 4.1 are subject to a nation rename and further punishment if repeated.

Name changes can be given out if a nation was created with a name that violates 4.1.

4.2 - Town names

Town names must not contain anything that breaks rule 2. Town names must be presented in English characters and/or translation.

4.3 - Titles

Players’ town/nation titles, surnames, and nicknames must be compliant with rule 2.

Additional information

Rules are subject to change at any time. It is the responsibility of the player to stay updated with the rules.

Players are punished based on mutes, warnings, temporary bans, and bans. Players are temporarily banned after reaching 4 warnings and are permanently banned after 5 warnings. Players that are warned twice within a day will be temporarily banned. Players that are being constantly muted, may receive a warning and possibly temp banned depending on severity.

Warns expire 90 days after they are issued.

Cases regarding temporary bans/permanent bans /appeals are decided on by server staff and moderators.

When creating a ticket please provide a claim and substantial evidence, preferably videos, and/or screenshots. Any claim that does not have such evidence may not be resolved due to lack of evidence.

The "official mediums" of DiplomaticaMC are chats that are within reach of moderation by the Staff team and administrators. Official mediums include: ingame chats, the main discord server, and support discord server. Evidence that originates outside of official mediums cannot be used as evidence, with the exception of severe cases of: 1.6, 2.4.

To dispute claims, warnings, temp bans, to appeal, and to ask questions you must open a ticket in our Support Discord server.

DiplomaticaMC reserves the right to revoke players' perks that are purchasable through ranks, and ranks entirely if they are subject to abuse and/or rule-breaking.

Rules and punishments are looked at by staff depending on the topic, severity, and history of a user’s infractions.

Creating any tickets with reasons that are not suitable for a resolve, or fake claims may result in a ban from the Support Discord server.

We will rollback player’s inventories or items only if they were victim to a glitch, server crashes, and other technical issues.
